Wear whatever makes you happy! You need to be street legal to the door, but once you’re inside a members-only event, APEX does not have a dress code. You get to be who you want to be at APEX. While many people just wear casual, everyday clothes, there are also many who use APEX as a safe space and opportunity to express themselves more fully, authentically, or in different ways than they would or could in the outside world.

There are a few exceptions:

  • Events that are open to the public (such as New Member Orientations, SIGs, and our monthly BBQ and Open House) require all participants to remain street legal.
  • Themed Saturday Night parties may encourage members to dress according to a provided theme, but this is completely optional.
  • Hosted Friday Night parties that include play restrictions may include clothing restrictions. However, this is exceedingly rare.

It’s also worth noting that event-specific dress codes will be listed on calendar events on this website and on FetLife. But these are the exception, not the rule.

The short answer is that you will see everything at APEX. You may see people wearing pup hoods, full latex bodysuits, or leather harnesses exploring or expressing different gender identities and expressions; embracing their inner nudist, and much more. How do you want to dress?

For Non-Members

Lots of them! Every month, APEX hosts six discussion groups and two social events that are open to the community–not to mention our monthly BBQ.

Feel free to read more about our open events, and find one to attend when you’re ready!

Sorry, but unfortunately not. Play parties are members-only for the safety for our members and for the club as a whole.

Joining APEX & Membership Options

First, fill out the New Member Application.

Next, find a New Member Orientation on our Calendar of Events that works for you. New Member Orientations listed on our calendar are open to anyone over 18 who wishes to apply for membership. Please arrive on time–early is even better. Please be ready to pay for the membership type you expect to select. Most questions will be answered in your New Member Orientation.

For more information, visit our page on Becoming a Member.

Yes! Absolutely! Nearly all of our classes and social events are equally accessible to singles as to those in couples (or other relationship types). While it is true that solo play is not allowed at parties, they are still a great opportunity to socialize and meet new people! And while APEX expressly does not offer any dating or matchmaking services, it is not uncommon for people who meet here to form new relationships–anything from play partnerships to committed long-term relationships.

APEX does not offer a “couple’s” membership option. A very diverse range of relationship types and statuses are represented at APEX, including singles, couples, polycules, leather families, and more. We all meet at APEX as equals, and so no relationship style gets preferential treatment. Offering a “couple’s” membership would imply that couples are favored over other relationship types, which would be in direct conflict with APEX values.

APEX does not offer special pricing based on genders (or lack of gender). Everyone is welcome as equals at APEX and no single gender (or lack of a gender) is favored over any others. There will be no invasive conversations about your gender in order for you to be welcomed at APEX. Giving preferential treatment based on gender (or any gender construct or label) would be in direct conflict with APEX values.

For Existing & Returning Members

Not at this time. We’ve offered this option in the past, but unfortunately it created unwanted confusion for some members and extra work for our Door Volunteers. If we can find a solution for online renewal that provides a good experience, we’ll definitely consider it.

In the meantime, it’s easy to renew in-person. Just find a members-only event and speak to the Door Volunteer. They can help you with the rest. (It’s best to arrive at least 15 minutes early.)

That depends. If it’s been more than two years since you’ve had an active membership, you’ll need to attend a New Member Orientation again.

Volunteering at APEX

You would have to be a member, sorry! While APEX appreciates your enthusiasm to help out, these volunteer positions require a great deal of responsibility. Requiring our volunteers be members is a way that we can help to protect the safety of the club and its members.

But if you really want to help, it’s easy enough to join. Visit our page to learn how.
